Medovate are delighted to be a Silver Sponsor of the RA-UK Annual Scientific Meeting 2021, which is taking place on Wednesday 5th – Thursday 6th May 2021.
Regional Anaesthesia - UK (RA-UK) have announced that, due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions, the event this year will be delivered virtually in a dynamic format. The two-day conference will be filmed in a TV style production and broadcast live from a venue in Sheffield.
RA-UK is the UK division of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and is the UK specialist society for anaesthetists interested in the field of regional anaesthesia. The aims of the Society are the advancement of the standards and education in Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Management in the United Kingdom.
Their Annual Scientific Meeting is a key event in the regional anaesthesia calendar and attracts a wealth of experts and specialists from the UK and beyond. The programme this year features a number of exciting sessions, including live ultrasound scanning, panel discussions and talks from expert faculty and international speakers.
As sponsors of the event, Medovate will be using the platform to highlight the benefits of new technology SAFIRA® (SAFer Injection for Regional Anaesthesia), designed to help reduce the risk of nerve injury during regional anaesthesia.
Developed in collaboration with UK National Health Service (NHS) clinicians, SAFIRA® transforms the technique of Peripheral Nerve Blockade into a one-person procedure, giving the anaesthetist full control of the injection at all times.
The pioneering technology further supports patient safety by helping reduce the risk of nerve damage, as a built-in safety mechanism prevents anaesthetic from being injected at pressures above 20psi. Furthermore, economic modelling has shown SAFIRA® has the potential to help generate time and cost savings in a medical setting. Vygon is the distribution partner for SAFIRA® across 60 countries, including the UK and Western Europe.
The RA-UK Annual Scientific Meeting 2021 is a great opportunity to learn more about the latest advances in regional anaesthesia and discuss the challenges and future of the practice. With significant interest in SAFIRA from the UK regional anaesthesia community, we are excited to be able to further showcase SAFIRA® at this event.
The highlight is the expert clinical symposia sessions taking place on day 1, which include 5 interactive sessions where international experts will give clinical tips on key subjects and highlight how regional anaesthesia can be safely incorporated into daily practice, and make a difference to patient care.
