Medovate are delighted to be attending the RA-UK & ISURA Joint Annual Scientific Meeting taking place 5 – 7 May 2022 at the International Conference Centre (EICC) in the city of Edinburgh, where attendees will be able to see our SAFIRA® system technology.

Our exclusive UK distributor Vygon UK will be exhibiting at the event, which they are supporting this year as a Silver Sponsor and will be showcasing amongst their extensive range of products our revolutionary SAFIRA® technology on Stand #12, enabling delegates to get hands on with the device.

The award-winning SAFIRA® system makes regional anaesthesia a single operator procedure and includes a built-in safety system to automatically limit injection pressure below a specified threshold reducing the risk of nerve injury. Additionally, a new Palm Operator option and NRFit™ syringe has recently been launched to provide further choice and versatility for clinicians and enhance the product’s unique offerings.

The event presents a fantastic opportunity to discuss all things regional anaesthesia (RA), chronic pain & POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) – and is the first joint meeting of Regional Anaesthesia-UK (RA-UK) and the International Symposium of Ultrasound for Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ISURA) for the regional anaesthesia community.

The meeting will comprise of a series of exciting lectures, live ultrasound demonstrations, interactive audience polls and open discussions, as well as hands-on workshops. This year the event will also feature a first-of-its-kind #RAPDiversity networking breakfast meeting to promote Diversity, Equality and Inclusivity within RA and pain medicine.

A number of notable names are on this year’s programme, including: Dr Alan McFarlane (RA-UK President), Prof. Philip Peng (President ISURA), Dr Amit Pawa (previous RA-UK President), Dr Rosie Hogg, Prof. Ed Mariano, Dr Clara Lobo, Dr Maria Paz Sebastian & Dr Morné Wolmarans.

One of the key highlights is the keynote ‘Bruce Scott Lecture’ taking place of Day 3, delivered by Professor Colin McCartney, who will explore “Ultrasound guided brachial plexus blocks past present and future”.

Medovate’s Global Sales & Marketing Director Chris Rogers will be attending this year’s event to support Vygon UK and for the chance to meet delegates first-hand and talk to them about their RA experience, concerns around avoiding and managing nerve injury, and how our technology can be of value in reducing the risk of nerve injury as well as other wraparound cost benefits.

RA-UK is the UK division of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and is the UK specialist society for anaesthetists interested in the field of regional anaesthesia. ISURA is the International Symposium of Ultrasound for Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
