Medovate Industry Partner for ESRA Residents & Trainees Workshop event in Portugal

Medovate is delighted to be sponsoring the European Society for the 4th ESRA Residents & Trainees Workshop event, taking place at the Hospital das Forças Armadas on the 1^st and 2^nd April in Porto, Portugal.

As well as being an Industry Partner, Medovate will also be showcasing the SAFIRA® system (SAFer Injection for Regional Anaesthesia) – a pioneering device which is already revolutionising Regional Anaesthesia globally.

Organised by European Society for Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy (ESRA), the workshop is aimed at anaesthesiology residents just starting in the field of regional anaesthesia.

During the two days, Medovate will introduce attendees to examples of the SAFIRA® system on their stand enabling them to witness first-hand how the system works and the benefits it provides for safer peripheral nerve blocks.

SAFIRA® has been developed by medical device company Medovate in collaboration with clinicians from the UK’s National Health Service (NHS). The award-winning device gives anaesthetists full control of injection, as well as enhancing confidence through a built-in safety mechanism to automatically limit injection pressure to less than 20psi, thus helping to reduce the risk of nerve injury in patients.

Two clinicians who have evaluated the SAFIRA® system are among the faculty for the ESRA Residents & Trainees Workshop.

These include Dr Clara Lobo, Anaesthesiology Consultant, who is currently working at Hospital das Forças Armadas and Dr Peter Merjavy, Consultant Anaesthetist & Acute Pain Lead at the Craigavon Area University Teaching Hospital, Northern Ireland, UK.

Dr Merjavy has spoken about his experience of using the SAFIRA® system in a short video which is available on the Medovate You Tube Channel.
